Hello all was wondering if anyone could give me an idea what kind of delis and resturants are in the area? What kind of food they serve are the good and price range. Looking into possibly opening up a deli type place up there and wanted to get a vibe on what the locals think. Will be going to visit in the end of May myself any help would be great! Thank you.

Cooperstown's economy is based on tourism, which peaks in the summer and is dead in the winter. Like most touristy areas, it is saturated with restaurants and eateries. It does not need another restaurant.

My suggestion is to look for an established deli, diner or convenience store (with gasoline pumps) having a record of profitable operations. And expand your search to other areas of upstate NY, PA, VT, NH and CT.

Many of these places have been for sale for a long time and the owners may want to make a deal where you put down very little money and the owner takes back paper.
