We are looking into a few different areas of Orange County to purchase a house.
However, according to google maps, I am finding that my commute would be more like 2hours each way.
This is an issue since we have a child and would need to pick her up from daycare.

The areas we are looking at are Monroe, Warwick, Nanuet, and Sloatsburg.

Can anyone give me a better idea on what their commute is? Maybe googlemaps is a little off?

My office is located on Lexington Ave and 57th st

For an easier commute to the UES and the semi-rural atmosphere and lower real estate prices that I believe you're seeking, suggest you look into the northeastern part of Putnam County or the southeastern part of Dutchess County (the Pawling- Patterson area).

Problematic. If you work on the UES and hubby works in JC, then those areas of Orange and Rockland counties that you mentioned in your original post would be better. To get to the UES, you can drive to Hackensack or any place where the NJT bus No. 175 stops en route to the GW Bridge Terminal and from there MTA bus no. M98 heads to the UES along Lexington Ave. See links.

Note: Hubby can drive to JC.
