Timber Ridge townhouses in Highland Mills
Does anyone have any knowledge of this community? I'm looking at a couple townhouses for sale tomorrow in that complex.
I took a drive through there already to get a feel for it, and I have to say my first impression is quite nice. I think I actually like the older townhouses better than the newer ones, they give off a nice vibe.
I really like the closeness to the NYS Thruway but the downside is the taxes there are kind of high.
If anyone has any thoughts, good or bad about this place please let me know. Thanks

Hi! I had the same question about Timber Mills in Highland Mills. Did you find out anything about that development? Do you know if it is near the bus to NYC? Thanks!

Any1 live around there?
A month ago I took a drive through alone and this last weekend my fiance and I went together with a realtor to look at condo's. Some nice ones in Timber Ridge. But darn are the taxes high. Examples:
320k Condo, $7600 taxes, Built in 1994, 1536sq feet
350k Condo $8900 Taxes, Built in 2001, 1850sq feet
These are about 5mins away from Woodbury Commons. We like the area, hate the taxes!
Also I just found out that water conditioners for showering etc are a must up here.
Can any1 talk to me about the area's pro's/con's?

Hi! I live in Timber Ridge. I have a 1250 square townhose. It was built in 1985. It is an end unit, 2 bedroom with 1 1/2 baths, a fireplace and deck. The privacy with our unit is incredible. I have a 6 1/2 year old son who has enjoyed his "own backyard" for the whole time we have lived here. We moved in in 1999. The association makes sure the area is kept in tip top shape. maintenance is great! Garbage removal, leaf removal, snow removal and general maintenance couldn't be better! The complex has a pool and tennis courts and on top of that anyone living here has full access to Woodbury recreation which is a lake and beach area that is quite lovely. Swim lessons and camp are offered each year for children.
Shopping abounds! Woodbury Commons 2 miles down the road and of course all the major stores such as BJ's, Target, Walmart, Kohl's, etc. As you mentioned the taxes are high but keep in mind the Star Rebated comes off of that and because of the recent increase residents are appealing their assessment and having them reduced!!!! Myself being one of them . In January I fill out the paperwork and based on the success of neighbors I expect satisfaction. Our school system is fabulous!
We are looking to move only because we have outgrown our townhouse and are ready to get a house. We have full intentions of staying in the immediate area if not the same exact town. Highland Mills. Hope I gave you some insight!

I have been living in TimberRidge Phase II since 1986, There is a bus stop at the bottom of Timber Trail going to the 42nd street bus terminal. there is also a Park and Ride by Rt 32 and Rt 17 near the EXCon Station( it just became a Gulf Station). The Monroe Woodbury School District is excellant except our taxes are high. Our Police Dept responds to most of EMS calls if not all of our EMS calls. Phase two common charges are now at $ 215/mon. From what I have been told the TR complex is one of the nices developments in Orange County.
