A person who makes $20/hour who works 89/100 days makes $0.89 on the dollar compared to someone with the same wage who works 100/100 days.
Now I believe that everyone should be paid the same for the same work/output, but women tend to take more time off, usually due to family demands. Or sometimes the statistic is derived from lifetime earnings and since some women start their careers later, they earn less over their career.
But when a woman makes less than a man per hour for the same job title, that is a big problem. And there is evidence that this bias exists, but when other factor are taken into consideration the gap narrows to about $4-7 cents on the dollar (on the national level) as per the article linked above.
But like I said, I could not see the video so I am not sure if this applies in this case.

This is such a foolish topic. It's pretty rare for 2 people of any sex to do the exact same quality and quantity of work. To have laws (BTW, since 1963) that men & women be paid the same is ridiculous. The only person that can judge is the company owner. If you feel you are being treated unfairly, you are free to move to another company that pays what you feel you are worth. Often women are better and should be paid MORE.
The government really shouldn't be interfearing in the marketplace with pay anymore than they should be setting prices on goods and services.

This means that women in New York are paid 89 cents for every dollar paid to men, amounting to an annual wage gap of $5,916.
