God, they WOULD use a photo of one of the worst parts of Route 73 (the other being the hill down into Keene when you are driving back towards the Northway)!

I hate, hate, hate driving the Cascades section!!!! Am so glad I escaped having to drive that this winter ('cause the fam came down instead). Scary after dark because there are no lights at all, and nothing but water to your right on the other side of the guard rail. Even worse during snow season. I've been passed twice on the double yellows because I don't speed or even touch the 55 MPH limit on that part.

No mention of anything in the Bear Mountain area? People come from all over the place to ride/drive the Goat Trail and Rt. 218, and I'd say the appeal is about half-and-half for the road itself and the views.

There's a pull-off somewhere off 9W with a stunning view of the Hudson River and the West Point campus, a friend of mine from Cornwall showed me one night when I was driving her home. It was like 1 in the morning, freezing mother****ing cold, but so worth getting out of the car and freezing my balls off. The moon was casting a decent amount of light, there was a layer of snow on everything, the WP campus was all lit up, and it was DEAD quiet. Only sound you could hear was the muffled whistle and distant diesel rumbling of the lone train snaking up the tracks by the river.
