Im moving from the bay area ca and need advice on where to live in New York. Im a mid-30s black male, no kids and I work from home. Im looking for a house, not condo or apartment, no more than 3 bedrooms. My budget is 1million. Ive done some research and so far im interested in Astoria, Queens, Kensington Brooklyn, Dyker Heights Brooklyn. Not really interested in Manhattan. Looking for low crime area, not close to airports, I probably wont be going to the city often, but will often go to the airport for travel. Anyone have advice and realtor recommendations, thanks in advance

Astoria, Queens and any part of Brooklyn is New York City so you would be going to the City often since you would live there already. If you want to be close to the airports, buy in Queens. LaGuardia is very close to Astoria and you wouldn't be that far from JFK. Getting to any of these airports from Brooklyn can be a pain. You could also try Whitestone, Queens, if you don't require subway access.
