Schenectady: Union Street in the Stockade section is really nice. But then again most streets in that neighborhood are pleasant and full of character.
Scotia: Not really a street, but Sunnyside Road is nice to drive down. Lots of old, large homes. Trees hang over the street and almost feel like something out of the old South.
Albany: Most of the streets in the Center Square neighborhood. Jay, Lancaster, Hudson, and Chestnut Streets come to mind. Dense row homes that have lots of charm and character. Pretty well kept on the outside and have a Boston/Brooklyn feel to them.
After reading about Gibbs Street in Rochester, as well as thinking about Jay Street in Schenectady, what are some streets in other NY State cities you feel are "hidden gems" in terms of what they offer, urbanity, etc.? If you can think of one, why?
In terms of Niagara Falls, this street in between Main and Niagara comes to mind, with potential to be even better: https://goo.gl/maps/oghXYnMSDmsoVZc76
Not for the businesses (there aren't any) but the beautiful late 19th century houses and wide apron and sidewalk. Also, most of the Saratoga traffic bypasses this area and stays on Route 9. It's much quieter here and a nice place to walk.

.
I typed Union street in the stockade in google maps and I landed on a clean, but not very interesting neighborhood. There was even a guy pushing a shopping cart full of empties. Do you know what cross streets the area you mention is? Never been to Schenectady so I thought I'd take a peak
