Default Moving to Saugerties Next Week!

Just wondering if anyone had any opinions or info about this place - we bought a great home in a very nice area and are closing next week. My husband is a big dart player and someone told us there is a dart league there?? Any good tips on bars, restaurants, things to do, etc.? I will be leaving my job as an office manager in Newburgh (will not miss this city at all) and looking for something right in Saugerties as I do not drive right now. Wondering what the opportunities are in the village - anything would do for me. Thanks!

Not good with remembering names, but there's a bookstore-gallery and a really nice bakery/cafe in downtown.

The hub of the town seems to be on the 4-corners and probably some work after you've settled and met folks.

I actually thought about living in the area but ended up in the SW. Thought there'd be less snow turned out it is probably about the same in the end.

Enjoy and happy holidays.

Thanks - I think I will do a walking tour of the village once we are settled. I love galleries and bookstores so this should be great for me. Any ideas on bars or restaurants that you like in the area? Also do you know if there is a bus line that runs from Saugerties to Newburgh..I tried to look it up but Trailways doesn;t really list a route like this. Thanks for any input.

Don't know anything about public transportation but yes, several very good restaurants on this same street (with drinking/bar). Had a few good meals with friends having a show at the referenced gallery/bookstore.

It's a small town, but may have most services.
