Are you hinting that this might be a bad thing? I can't think of a negative thing to say about the New York State Troopers. They've always been professional and the harder it is to become one, the better the Troopers on the road.

Yes, I'm sure you're friend didn't exaggerate at all, heh. Even if he didn't, so what? It happens all over the country, not just New York. Speeding is still speeding.

I realize it's not that big of a deal, but you know upstate New Yorkers. Their guns are their life.
As a former resident of New York City suburbs and now a resident of Central New York, I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to this statement. Their is an active hunting culture in and about both the Catskill and Adirondack parks, but that kind of lifestyle is found all over every wooded area where hunting is allowed. I don't hunt and the majority of the people I've gotten to know up here don't hunt. Those who do like their rifles and even then...it's not their "life."

And if Hillary Clinton becomes president it will only become worse. She says she's going to outlaw guns in New York State.
I'm not a big Hillary supporter for President, although I think she is a good senator. Anyway, could you please post the link to the article or at least reference where she said she is going to "outlaw guns in New York State?" There would be a wave a criticism in this state if she ever said anything remotely along those lines.

I guess your friend who can't believe he/she got that ticket for only breaking the law A LITTLE must have told you Mrs. Clinton said that, heh.

The OP was a little outrageous, no?...particularly the title. Looking for even more outrageous responses, no doubt...and getting some, I see .

As anyone who's spent any time here knows, NY is a diverse state, generally not much different from any other states in the northeast, overall.

And what exactly is the "New York State Police Department" anyway? Never heard of that particular "department".

Until you have a crapload of deer running around NYC, I would advise you to stop talking about Upstaters clinging to their guns.

"Laws are no more strict than other states. People get pulled over for going 5 over the limit everywhere.
New York is far from a "police state" since its hard for a cop to do their job without interest groups such as the ACLU breathing down their necks."

Well garmin...you're skewed view as a blind law and order right-wing Rochesterite is further cemented. Ask someone what killed Canadian tourism in Alexandria Bay...a clue: it wasnt the exchange rate.

I don't know where you are getting that I'm right wing from, as I have never went into details about my politics on here, but keep making incorrect assumptions about people.
And what killed Canadian tourism?

So people who hunt are toothless hicks with gun racks on the back of there pickups.

What an ignorant and stereotypical statement.

wasn't that USCIS? I know a lot of Canadians who say it's too much trouble to come over the border these days. Too much trouble at the crossings. I don't think the state or local cops are the issue.

It's harder to become a nyc cop because the benefits are so good. Especially the salary. $25,000 a year is no joke!

Do you believe New York is too strict? The strictest in the country? And if Hillary Clinton becomes president it will only become worse. She says she's going to outlaw guns in New York State. I don't own one or have one, but that'll destroy hunting for food in upstate NY.
Your research failed you or you just did not look outside your borders. California is the top police state. More rules, regs, bylaws, laws, signs, etc. Criminal investigations are the same everywhere except maybe Mayberry backwoods cop shop. They all go to the same criminal law school. They all go through the same training no matter where they are.

I have never heard of copper training that teaches to violate citizens human rights like they do in Philly with that incident last week. Come to think of it NYC has thier own version of justice with that now famous incident. Do all cop shops teach that everyone on the squad has to empty their gun into one innocent till proven guilty man rather then one in the leg to stop him?

Cops have ice water for blood. If you search here, there is a thread with thousands of posts titled something like "My son got a ticket for 21 in a 25". It is things like this that turn the public against these lying corrupt street thugs with badges.

What gave you the idea Clinton was going to outlaw guns in NY? I searched that one real quick and found nothing. How can she just take away your constitutional right to bear arms? I know I know the Dictator "The Decider" has succeeded in shreading the constitution already while calling it "Just a G-Damn piece of paper". But ol Billery has no desire of doing it. Obama Salami has already promised to take away all arms from citizens no matter where you live. He will succed with that like he will with proving he is no more then just another thug with money.

Im not a gun nut nor do I hunt but I carry one everywhere I can. I believe in the right to carry for whatever reason we desire.

You really need to change your name if you are looking for any respect. I seem to recall you saying you are not a cop nor want to be. The name turns peoples stomachs who dont know otherwise.
