I have a job offer in the North Country and I am wondering if anybody can tell me anything about Massena. I want the good and bad. Crime, affordable housing, quality of life, how are the people, weather, recreational activities, healthcare, festivals and more?

Hell frozen over..not a nice place at all. Kind of a more polished Ogdensburg. A time warp kind of place that has a LOT of alcohol and gambling as major cultural distractions.
If you have to work in Massena...live in Potsdam and commute up there (only 18 miles). Potsdam is a college town and has a lot of stuff going on. If you need the city, Ottawa is about a 1.5 hour drive, Montreal is 2. |

Thank you for the info. I think i may relocate to the Finger Lakes instead of the north country.

A polished Ogedensburg is still Ogdensburg. I like the idea of commuting from Potsdam if you had a job in Massena. Hopefully, it is not at the GM plant, which I hear is going through hard times. |
