This Cayuga County(most likely Auburn) native is credited as one of the founders of the first intercollegiate African American/Black fraternity(Alpha Phi Alpha at Cornell in 1906): Charles Henry Chapman

Ironically in Auburn’s SW Quadrant, there is a Chapman Avenue and Thompson(a last name mentioned in the article) AME Zion Church was/is(under a different name)a long time church in that city. Auburn in 35 objects: Original Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church | Lake Life | auburnpub.com
