I believe that former school is where the church is located and the Arrington family also have roots from VA.

LeRoy Football 2008 Preview

Lost to Class C state champ in playoffs in both of those seasons(Bishop Ludden in 2007 and Southwestern(Jamestown) in 2008).

That same website in its into page used to have pictures of previous teams. The 1919 team picture had black players and in 1950, it’s team captain was black(from another big black family in the Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford area). So, this is a small town area with a consistent black population that has been there for well over a century.

Professional reference from and in Avon in Livingston County: Avon Central Schools

Again, I believe that she comes from a family that has lived in the town for decades. Avon is also next/close to the Caledonia-Mumford and Le Roy areas as well.

Interesting enough, the town of Avon actually has a hamlet by the name of Ashantee, which makes me wonder if that is where the black population in the town lived at one time due to the origin of that name.
