Default No city in between Albany and NYC

how come there is no cities at all of note in between Albany and NYC?

If there was, I think it would make both NYC and Albany a lot more attractive places.

2 hours between the two is a bit much.

One... NYC is one of the world's most famous cities with the higest real estate values in the country. Why would you need to make it more 'attractive'?

Two: Further urban development is not necessary to connect Albany and NYC... remember people move to the country to escape the city.

seamas is on a distinguished road
I can think of 3 cities just aling the Hudson that are between NYC and Albany:
Yonkers, Newburgh and Poughkeepsie.

Plus there is New Rochelle and White Plains.
