Default New Windsor, NY to NYC - commute

Can anyone tell me about commuting from New Windsor to the city? Train or bus, and from what city if not directly from New Windsor? Thanks!

Default Trains to NYC

Hi Rockland Newbie,

Try this: MTA Metro-North Railroad for train information. The train station in New Windsor is Salisbury Mills/Cornwall, on the Port Jervis Line.

Here is some information on traveling to NYC from the New Windsor website:
Town of New Windsor, Orange County, New York

Hope this helps.

You can also look at going from the Beacon Train Station just across the river...it may get you closer to where you are trying to go in the city without all the round-about....I hear the bus is actually faster than the train sometimes provided you don't have really odd times you'll be coming back up this way.

Good Luck!

~Joey

Hey Joey,

Good point about Beacon...but is there a place to park at the train station, heard it's crowded? Maybe there is an alternative lot somewhere?

There are two choices:
  1. Drive cross the newburgh-beacon bridge and park at the train station
  2. You can park at the Newburgh Ferry and take that over to the Train

Good Luck!

Hey Joey,

Is there a over-crowding situation at the parking lots?

I wish I could give you an honest answer...when I go to the city I drive...but I'm sure one of the local commuters can give us a good idea.

Anyone?

I have 4 friends that live in New Windsor that commute to Manhattan every day. They say it take about 1 hour 20 minutes.
