Default Thinking of Pawling NY

Hi-
This is my first post. I am new to this so apologies if I am not posting in the right place. We currently live in Stamford and are considering a move to Pawling, NY. My husband works in NYC. Can anyone tell me anything about Pawling - the real deal, I have read about it on official sites and we have gone there once before...Is it a good town to live in? Are there things to do? Restaurants? Shops? Entertainment? Will we feel a little isolated? We have a baby and we used to live in NYC so we are still used to big city life and I am a little worried I will feel out of place there. Also how are the schools in Pawling? Is the commute to NYC going to kill my husband? Thank you in advance.

We're also considering Pawling and we live in NYC and I commute 3 to 4 days per week, so I'm hoping it won't kill me, let alone your husband. There are ton of great properties there for outstanding value so I believe the commute will be worth it but I'm researching it now as well so perhaps we can keep each other apprised of our findings? Jack

Pawling is pretty small, a few restaurants and shops. Pretty little town though.
