Default New Windsor, Town of Newburgh - help

Hello,

We are considering moving to the area around New Windsor/Town of Newburgh. I do have family there but I'd like some other opinions.

Can you reccommend what towns are considered better or worse?
What about the school systems? And do you have any info on Catholic Schools too? How is the job market? Realistically, how long would the commute be to Bergen County NJ during morning rush?

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi,
I think your commute would be around 45 minutes, say to around the Paramus area...maybe a little less.

Unfortunately to say, depending on how you hit the traffic you will actually be looking at about a 1 to 1.5 hour commute back to Bergen in morning rush. The job market kind of depends on what you do for work, there is a lot of things happening in the New Windsor area with the airport being taken over by Port Authority - so I would expect the job market in that specific locale to get better as we should see much more commercial going in (there's already been a significant amount of commercial growth in the last year).

I answer the town or school question, and I really have no idea about any Catholic Schools, although I'm sure there is at least one. I would recommend doing a search on SchoolMatch and School Matters. Those two websites will give you info that is not swayed by anyone.

Good Luck and don't hesitate to ask any more questions!

~Joey

LSLE is on a distinguished road
There is Bishop Dunn Portal Forward school that I came across while researching the day camps for my son. Unfortunately, can't give you more info on how good/bad this school is.

Default Town of Newburgh commute to Paramus

My husband works on Rt 17 NORTH in Paramus, it takes him 45 mins. Most of the traffic is in the usual Century Rd area. We moved here a year ago due to Bergen Co being highly priced. We are right off of 84 and its a 2-3 min drive to be on 87. We love it. It is less congested than Bergen Co. where we grew up.
