Smile Moving to Orange County in spring 09..where to?

Hello there. Next spring/summer we will be buying our first house in OC. My husband works in Maybrook. For now we live in Rockland. Ive been going up now and then to check out some towns. I like parts of Monroe and Montgomery so far. We are an interracial family..me white, hubby black..three kids but two will be in college by then, which leaves my son who will be going into middle school when we move. Im only looking for under 300k.Putting down 100k for a smaller mortgage. I'd like some input on places that have supermarkets around them, or cvs and deli and pizza etc..I just dont want to be in the middle of nothing..any suggestions where to fit in?..whats Otisville like? Chester, Florida? any input would surely be appreciated.I have plenty of time to look but just not sure where to look..lol Thanks.

You would fit in anywhere in Orange County. Washingtonville has a very small walkable village, with a deli, a cvs and a supermarket. There are some town houses in Washingtonville that are very nice and are sorta in town. Not sure of the prices of houses in the developments just on the outskirts of town, but would recommend checking it out.
