My husband and I have begun the very difficult part of house hunting which is trying to pick a location to raise our family where the kids will have a nice home with lots of land for them to play and of course above all a good school for them to attend. My husband will have to commute to NY to his job so I have narrowed down Orange County, some towns are only about 50 min away driving, but if someone can please help with their expreiences in any close town in Orange County or if you recommend any that I can look into, and those that I should STAY AWAY from. Thank You I appreciate any help.

One place that comes to mind, with all your requirements, is Warwick. You can't go wrong. Great place with great schools. You will love it.

As far as one's to stay away from in Orange County are the city of Newburgh and Middletown, as far as what I've heard, but do some research if you can too. I think the Minisink Valley area is close too, but I'm not completely sure about that.

Actually, Monroe-Woodbury is really close too. Minisink Valley is by Middletown.

Also, the Highland Falls and Goshen areas aren't that far either.

Default Orange County Chamber of Commerce

Hi,

Here's a link that might help: Orange County Chamber of Commerce (this may be somewhat outdated)

And another one: www.ocny.com

Last edited by tambre; 08-12-2008 at 06:53 PM.. Reason: add another link
