Anyone have any info on the Bon Aire Park Condos In Suffern ?
I've been considering Suffern as a prospective location to move from my apartment in the Bronx. I took a trip over there and found the town to have a great mix of people and amenities.
I came across the Bon Aire Park Complex and just wanted to get some information from anyone who has lived there or knows anything about them.
Thanks.

I can't comment on the interior, either, but the development was the first, or one of the first (trying to remember the tour a native friend gave me) condominium complexes in Suffern, and it's fairly large with about 1,000 units. The village is nice, however, and there are places in the hills where you can get vistas of the Manhattan skyline. I think it's a good choice, actually, from a neighborhood perspective if you can find the right condo in the complex.

The only hesitation I have is the high monthly common fees. I'm sure it includes taxes, but still quite high.

I would venture that they would include taxes, since taxes in the Town of Ramapo, of which Suffern is a part, are pretty high. That's probably the bulk of the common charges, although I'd also check into the age of the structures to see if the board is putting aside funds, or paying for, maintenance and replacement-related issues as the complex was built in the early 1970s. It could be a factor of both, however, that are responsible for the higher monthly charges.

Thank you, and you're welcome. I am happy to bounce ideas around since sometimes it helps to have great forums like this where people can gain insight into a particular issue, such as the important factor in selecting a place to live.
Another plus in Suffern's favor, to help compensate for the high taxes, is some of the local pizza, some of which I understand is fantastic if you like the thin, crispy crust variety.

If you are buying a co op yes the taxes are included but the MOH fees are any where from $800 and up If you are buying a condo then you pay the taxes which some are running around 3500- 4800 and the MOH fees are between 200 & 300 a month
The units are very nice, spacious Some of the condo units have their own private laundry Which is located downstairs, you have your own w/d and storage
You your homework and research co op V condo you can ask for the recent sales on both in that area good luck
