It should go to a special election then. Which would be the fair thing to do.
And yes this end of NY state is dumped on and not cared for by all the politicians. But we need someone who wants to help out this area. Just wish there was someone who did. And yes you are correct on where are those officials on this gas price fix at this end of the state.

Brown has proved himself as being a self serving fence sitting politican. Forget him. Higgins is a bit better of a choice but FedUp has nailed it with him.
Has there ever been an instance where a former president has taken a lesser office? I am thinking maybe John Adams?

I want to say Grant did as well. Not 100% sure though.

A member of the transportation committee has a community with some of the worse roads in the city. To my mind, that doesn't make for a good candidate as a United States Senator.
Brown is opportunistic. He was a senator turned mayor, now seeking a different level of Senate. His best interest is to remain a carreer politician.
Bill Clinton though, having led our country, his education and experience makes him ideal for the job once Hillary changes roles. He has charm, and popularity and (from what I understand) a good working relationship with Governor Paterson.

Didn't say it had to be Higgins or Brown, just a real NYer, preferably from upstate who knows what happens here and just isn't here for photo ops ( I specifically think of hillary at the NF AFB -- when she didn't save it but showed up to say she did).........There are other people from upstate who are UpstateNYers and really give a darnabout the state. Hillary didn't and neither would bill. They were Carpetbaggers who could not go back to Arkansas... the state that knew them too well. Fools in this state ( mostly in the cities and down south of Westchester) will all vote Dem and not read a platform. (Last carpetbagger was RFK; he wanted the state only for a stepping stone, just like Hillary). Paterson has to appoint someone who will do well and can get re-elected.... esp. since Paterson has an election in 2010 as well.
Bill has too many conflicts of interest and connections which are not good for NY.... think about it; his connections almost burned herbutt as SOS.

It is true. Paterson's choice has to be someone who will not work for their own self-interest. The one's who have raised their hands so far have done so for personal gain, IMHO.

It looks like Caroline Kennedy is angling for the position. Frankly, I'd like to see someone from Upstate get the job, preferably someone from WNY. But as usual, I'm sure it'll be a Downstater.

Yes that will happen again. Unless we can get someone who really has WNY in their heart to run.

Is Carolina Kennedy even from NY? Pardon my ignorance but I thought they all lived in Masschussets with the exception of The Governator's wifey? I really hope we don't get another carpetbagger!
