Middletown to Hudson
Hello,
I am from Queens and I plan to move upstate early next year. I would like to know are there any clean and diverse towns to live between Middletown and Hudson. I know that nothing will probably be as diverse as Queens, however, I am an African American woman with 2 children and must be comfortable wherever I move. Also, I do not mind in living urban areas, but I would like to live where crime is lower than Queen's and FYI I don't consider Queens to be high crime, as some people would .
Rent is also an issue, I would only like to pay $1000 a month max for a 2 bedroom. I can't get that in Queens, unless it's a basement apartment .
Last thing, what town are the jobs in?
Thank you all in advance!

I would say try Kingston, Pine Bush area, Hudson, Catskill, Ellenville, New Paltz, Marlboro and Highland.

Thanks a lot, I am wondering about Ellenville, though, everyone makes it seems like it is some spooked out place.
Looks like you are in Syracuse, how are the neighborhoods out there?

Just like any other good sized city, it has good and rough neighborhoods. All in all, it's not that bad to be honest. I think if you moved up here, you would like the East side neighborhoods. My personal favorite are the neighborhoods by the University, especially the Westcott neighborhood. Very diverse part of the city and still pretty safe. Here's a listing of Syracuse city neighborhoods, if you like to check them out: Syracuse Neighborhood Information + Homes For Sale | CNYREALTOR.COM
