Default Cayuga County LICENSED General Contractors

Looking for referrals from your own postive personal experience.

Have family in the area (good people, immersed in the community, and always helping out others) who took out 2nd mortgage on home for much needed remodeling (fourth generation living in home), and who lost much of the money to several unsavory contractors (including architect, contractor, and plumber) who took their money, charged their account at the hardware/supply store for OTHER PEOPLE'S jobs, tore apart their home, and left them high and dry with a half-way (and incorrectly) finished job.

We'd like to surprise them by making the 12 hour trek over the Christmas and school break to put in some free labor to at least help get the un-level master bathtub not only re-installed correctly/in-level, but to install the proper support below it. And probably even have to re-do part if not all of the newly installed master tile floor because of this. This unfinished project has left them not only with a totally unusable master bathroom, but has stopped them from being able to finish the rooms below (which have the ceilings & walls torn out) until the tub support and proper waste piping work is completed. Not to mention it's difficult to afford repairs when the money for the jobs was stolen.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated. We're in need of a Licensed General Contractor who can review the bathroom situation and tell us what needs to be done. In other words, we've got the labor covered, but need the brains behind it!

Thank you in advance!

Well, not knowing what town they live in limits my response, but I guess I would start by calling a local winery. They are usually very friendly and things need to be fixed at them too. They could probably suggest someone for you. Then visit them on your way into town to stock up on some great NY wine. There are several nice wineries in that area of the Finger Lakes.
