We are considering moving to Middleton from Clifton, NJ where we rent. My wife works in Washington Heigths, NYC. Could someone please tell me what transportation takes one to that area. Thanks a lot.

I would certainly look in the Monroe-Woodbury area. TERRIFIC schools, and great towns like Central Valley, Woodbury, Harriman, etc. Very convenient to the Thruway or the trains. Also good amenities for families who need access to "suburban goods" from Target, Wal-Mart, etc. It's also a very pretty place to live. Certainly exceeded our expectations.

I live in Salisbury Mills (between Washingtonville and New Windsor). I take the New Jersey Transit Train into Hoboken everyday and then the PATH train to the WTC. The train ride 1 hour 10 minutes. The Path is 8 minutes, but can be 20 if you don't hit it right. The total monthly fee is $267. Plus $300 per year for parking.
Hope that helps. Good Luck
Al

There are actually a lot of opportunity here in Orange County. Most of the school districts (from what I hear from clients)(Realtor hoopla) are very very good. There area a couple that are considered "Less Desireable" but maybe that's because you aren't working there yet!
I do know that there are a good deal of positions available at local districts, the best thing to do is go directly to their websites and see what positions are available. If you aren't sure what districts are here, let me know and I would be more than happy to list them all for you.
Good luck and happy job searching! BTW, congrats on your future marriage!

looking for work
HI,I recently moved to Washingtonville NY. Im currently working in the bronx. The commute is becoming a drag for me, especially with 3 children. Im getting home too late everyday. I really want to find a job closer to home. I want my kids to attend school in Washingtonville as well. Right now my twins are in pre school, and because Its not full day and I have no one to pick them up, Im sacrificing this commute. By September they will be ready for Kindergarten, and hopefully its a full day of school,Does anyone have an idea where I can get a head start on my job search.Right Now I work for a Hospital Union and Im a Member Service Generalist for people seeking jobs and laid off members. Im looking for something in that field, or Administrative. I have a goal to work closer to home by July so I can register my kids at school for September. Its time to make changes for the better.. HELP!!!

We may be moving to Orange county soon - wondering how the Minisink area is to live - the area seems like just what we're looking for - rural, quiet - wondering impressions of the people living in the area, shopping (is the only place to go for food that giant walmart off the Thruway by Woodbury commons - those that we talked to seem to say it's either that or go up to Middletown?)?, etc., etc. I'm kind of a city girl so I'm sure this will be a change! Thanks!

Minisink is a great area..........plenty of open and wooded terrain...once mostly farmland but now dotted w/ small clusters of new construction. Middletown takes care of most shopping needs or if closer to exit #2 on 84 pop over the mountain to Matamoras PA for groceries and fast food. Warwick is also easily reached for a charming village setting or possibly Milford PA . Recently sold a charming 5 yr old colonial on a dirt road [yes they still exist] to a couple transfering in from Canada and working in Middletown......just love the area.
