There are plenty of single people in New York City. It's just that a lot of them have kind of "given up." When it comes to relationships and romance there are a lot of jaded, bitter people walking around the streets of New York City.

I feel like Debbie Downer now. lol.

Yes, tis true. But the saying goes (I heard this second hand from a gal whose friend had gone, and come back from AK, husband hunting)

The odds are good, but the goods are odd.

I'm trying my hand at "The Secret". Using 'law of attraction' perhaps will draw Mr. Right to me here in NY! LOL!

I'm moving away from Buffalo for many of the same reasons you are moving back. Interesting. I'm "only" 34 - but finding a good, attractive, non-blue-collar woman in this area is tough. I'm not moving to Charlotte, NC to "find me a woman" ... but I've got to believe the odds are better there than they are for me here.

You all need to come to the metro DC area. I think we have one of the highest percentages of singles in the country - and the overwhelming majority have high paying jobs and advanced degrees...

Now on the other hand, the downside it that they tend to take themselves too seriously and like to work too much, but hey, you can't have everything.

Assuming ImperialEgg is a woman, I'll tell you what you do. Hit any bar in the metropolitan area on Mother's Day of Father's Day. Generally anyone with wife and kids at home, is home on those days. I'm single and my children are grown and I'm not even 40 yet. Too bad I worked so hard to feed my children that I couldn't go to college. Oh well, you lose some, you lose some more.

also said it- NOT on LI. It is impossible there- plus everyone is saddled with kids

DC sounds good, or Boston- I met some very nice guys in Boston- educated- responsible (unlike LI) .

Good luck!

Don't believe it. Some ARE that Desperate.

Personally I think since a guy peaks sexually around 17 , Chances you'll find a educated man 30 or 40 something who wants to get married "for the first time" are quite slim. This guy prob shacked up a while had a kid out of wedlock now pays child support and trys to stay relevant in his childs life. Yet can say he's never been married.

I would suggest looking for married once before types who had kids early and the kids are now in their early 20s. Perhaps these type would be willing to give marrage a second try.
