Montgomery, Scotchtown, Pine Bush, Wallkill, Monroe, and Minisink Valley School district areas. Up 211 in the Montgomery area is nice, and parts off 17K and 52 going out towards Bullville/Pine Bush are also nice.

And stay far from Newburgh Free Acadamy and the inner areas of Newburgh.

We currently live in Goshen. The top schools around the area in no particular order are Goshen, Warwick, Monroe, Minisink. Minisink is more "out there" and will add another 10-15 minutes on to your commute. IMO, Warwick schools are tops, but unfortunately, there is no easy access to 17 to commute for DH. Thought about moving to NC b/c the taxes are crazy high here, but will stay put for the time being.

Great website for homes in Orange County, and NOT realtor linked in any way, shape or form. You can search by school district and price.

Stay in the Scotchtown area especially if you have kids
because the middletown school district is the worst they can't protect you children move to scotchtown or think of other place like Monroe,Woodbury,Goshen.

I would look in Warwick and skip the overcrowded Monroe, Pine Bush and Goshen districts. statistics on school websites don't paint a clear picture. if you are concerned about schools, make appointments with principals and see for yourself. Look at the schools themselves and see what they look like. As a custom home builder in Orange Cty I can honestly say that property values and quality of life is better in Warwick than in Pine Bush, Monroe or Goshen.

Not everyone can afford warwicks taxes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Goshen, Pine Bush schools except maybe you dont build there.

Minisink is great district to live in it's near middletown for the shopping. Minisink offers a great school district a safe County and lower taxes than areas like Goshen and Warwick we are minutes away from all highways like route 84 and 17. you also have access to Sussex NJ near Hear and Matamoras Pennsylvania. good luck

I am especially interested in your post because I was called for an interview for a middle school reading teacher position in Middletown. What else does your niece have to say?
