I live about 15 minutes away from middletown, ny. Stay away from middletown schools, port jervis schools, washingtonville schools.

Good school districts: minisink, pinebush and monroe.

Slate Hill, Westtown, Town of Greenville, Johnson, Minisink are all great towns. Family oriented and safe. They are about 10 - 15 minutes out of middletown. Middletown Galleria Mall is great for shopping!! So many stores. Not to live in. Town of Greenville Zip Code 12771(town of Greenville uses Port Jervis Post office. If you look up homes in the 12771 area make sure they are Minisink School District. Slate Hill zip code is 10973. That is the same zip code for Minisink School District. I don't know the other Zip Codes. Some Homes nearby have Middletown addresses but are in the Minisink School District. Go by the school district.

Let me know if you need other information.

Mae, you may want to search on Arc Realty site. This site is very thorough and you can search the mls by school district. Pine Bush is among some of the best schools I mentioned but I'm not sure about Scotchtown. I forgot to mention Goshen Schools. Do you know where you will be commuting to?

Most of Scotchtown is Pine Bush schools, its divided between PB and Middletown districs. I live in Scotchtown now and I am awaiting a closing date (moving to S.C.).

We are meeting with a realtor to look at homes in Orange County as well..we are concentrating on Monroe, Pine Bush, Goshen schools. You can go on greatschoos.net to research any other information. If you find the address of a home you are intersested in, you can always call the local school district and find out if you would fall into that district or another. I know many of the towns/town lines blend together - sort of like some of the towns on LI, you can live in an upscale town but be on the border and then go to a different disctrict...
