Pine Bush, NY..any info?? (Middletown, Ridge: house, layoffs, to buy)

well we just got an accepted offer on a house we want to buy. We are not too familar with Pine Bush but it looks like a nice area. Could anyone out there tell me a little more about the area? Im from Rockland County but my husband works in Orange(Maybrook)..My son will be going to Crispell Middle School..and the house is around Pine Bush Lake. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

From what I know, it is a nice area with good schools. It's close to Middletown and the shopping in that area too. I believe it is an area that is growing as well.

Pine Bush is alright. I know property taxes are a bit higher. It's nothing like where your coming from. Personally I wouldn't move there, but to each his own.

Pine Bush is very nice, but the taxes are high. It is a nice place to raise a family. I was born in Middletown and grew up in the Pine Bush area. I graduated from Pine Bush High School, worked in Orange County for many years befor moving way upstate. My kids were also born there but we moved befor they started school
My wife happened to teach at Chrispell Middle school for about ten years befor our move. From what I understand the class sizes are a little big, but it seems the enrollment has been getting smaller over the past years. That means layoffs.
Anyway, if you have more questions my wife and I can try to answer them for you. If your kids will be going to Chrispell I'm sure we can pass along a few contacts for you. We know some very good teachers and great people that work in that school and through out the district. Along with other school in the area.

I don't know alot about it but it seems pretty I've been to the horse vet clinic with my friend and they seem really great there, I don't know if they do all animals or just horses but I know they are so good with the horses. That's only of interest if you have a horse but if you do have a horse it's major info. Good Luck.

Taxes are high all over, I found my dream house between Stone Ridge and Hurley, taxes are over $6,000 a yr and probably closer to $7 if we bought the extra land we need. We can't afford them so I guess it'll be someone else's dream.

Okay. Well i live in the Pine Bush District For Four Year Came here In 4th Grade Now In 7th.. i Go to Crispell Middle School. And if Your Asking if thats a good school to bring your child into.. Well yess it is a very good place to learn. But i had problems.. I was Born Raised From the City.. And its way way diffrent down here. but i will tell you that the taxs aree very very HIGH..!
