Default where in Beacon?

My wife and 2 year old and I are considering moving to Beacon - we've known it for a while for arts and hiking, and now she is going to be working in Poughkeepsie, and I'll still be commuting in to Manhattan. We've trying to get a handle on the more residential parts of town, and I'm wondering where people think is a good place to look for a house in Beacon.

CampingMom will become famous soon enough
I'd stay to the north side of 9D area-nice residential developments-mixture of new construction and older homes depending on what your wanting. Mostly commuters that live in that area-and younger families with kids. There is also the Glenham area on the east side running up on Rt.52 out of the city(Old Glenham Road brings you back to that area). It's also a nice residential area-mostly older-within the last 20-40 year old homes-save you some on costs ranches, cape cods and older colonials can be found in the Old Town Road area. The kids go to Glenham Elementary school which from what I know from friends is very good. Neither is too far out for the getting to the train station. Parking there-that might be tricky as from what I remember the parking has assigned spots and not sure how easy it is to get one. New Hamburg train station isn't too far either up off 9D. Not sure about the parking there these days for commuters.
