Default Pearl River or Tappan

Hi All,

We are currently looking at homes in Rockland County and are interested in these 2 areas. What would you say the perception of these areas are? Would you say that Tappan is considered more of an Upper class area than Pearl River?

I normally don't care about things like this (and my Husband thinks I am being ridiculous...and I agree that I am) but I still would like to know what the perception is. I understand that both have excellent schools - which is what our primary focus is.

Any advice?

Thanks!

I don't know that I could say one is more "upper class" than the other. They're both very nice areas of Orangetown. Pearl River has more "going on" because it has more businesses on Central Avenue than Tappan does in its little hamlet center. I have heard the 1776 House in Tappan is very nice, though I haven't been there to eat.

I agree, I don't think there is a big difference in perception between the two. Although, I would bet Tappan probably has a higher median home price and most likely has more impressive million dolllar + homes. Pearl River is much more of a community however, I think that counts for a lot. Either way, they are both lovely areas, and the schools are top notch, which you are already aware.
