Default Does anyone know about Reading NY

Hi, my husband likes the Watkins Glen Area and found a place for horses up there but I don't like the house at all. I was looking on the real estate site and found a beautiful 66 acre horse property in Reading NY. Can anyone tell me about the area? It is it rural or growing fast? We live very rural now and like rural. How are the taxes there? Is there much crime? This place seems too good to be true and I was just wondering. Thank you.

You don't have fast growth in Schuyler County because there are no jobs to speak of. You have beautiful countryside and crowds from the races a couple of times a year. Amish are moving in from PA to the better soil areas on both sides of Seneca Lake, starting from a little bit north of Watkins. On nice weekends sometimes the wine trail tourists get a little scary but there are plenty of back roads to get away from the folks who've had a few.

This Town does have a nice web site: Town of Reading, NY - Home
