I love upstate NY too...I pay to the tune of 5K in taxes for the priviledge of owning a house there...

My point is that too many born-and-bred Rochestarians cant fathom that people from the outside see their city very differently. People who want to move to WNY should not only hear the pom-pom people of Rachacha...but the "outsiders" perspective...which is just as important. I dont like the city very much...but i also think (and many people I know who arent from there share a similar sentiment) its good to have the other side explained. Otherwise its just a local-yokel vaccum. Our ex-presidents problem is that he couldnt take criticism well....look at the Roch board when someone has the NERVE to criticize their city. Its pretty funny actually...but Rochester takes itself soooo seriously. Heaven forbid we should take a potshot. Its too easy...

You are wrong and keep on making blanket statements. There is a difference between somebody coming in with a different perspective and somebody like you that comes in and makes sweeping generalizations about the people, which has no basis in truth. You bash most aspects of the area with comments that have no basis in truth. You do this time and time again while trying to speak for all outsiders.

I was born in Buffalo. I lived there for at least 25 years, I've also lived in Raleigh NC as well.

I accept criticism so long as you can back up what you say. I can't stand the one post handles who say "this thing s**ks." without anything else to say about it. It wouldn't work on a board about cooking and it doesn't work on this board.

If this guy thinks that everyone in Rochester denies its problems and thinks everyhting is just hunky dorey than he has obviously never read the D&C editorial sesction or seen the forum for the online version of the paper. Just another hater troll. All forums for all cities have them unfortunately. Just FYI though man; we really don't care if you like us or our city/region or not. Just don't make inaccurate broad generalizations based on nothing but your opinion and try to make it seem like "Fact"
