Default Commuting to the NYC from Garrison

Hello all,
I am looking to move from the NYC, and recently came across Garrison as one of the places to consider. Does anyone here commute from Garrison to the City on a regular basis? if so, what is the best way, and how long does it take?
I notice also that Garrison is pretty sparse, moving from the city, that appeals to me, but I am concerned that that could make me less secure. Should security be a major concern in Garrison?
Thank you very much

Go to Metro North site or look at the timetable to see how the train would take to get to Grand Central station and time from there to get to your location
