Default Help with auto lien search
I have a lien on a truck that is in CA (where I am) but it is registered in NY. I want to find out if there are any other liens on it, but am hitting brick walls on the NY end.

Does anyone have any idea how to do a lien search on a truck registered in NY, but not there physically?

I never had this problem before, but did you try doing either a carfax report, or contact Albany NY DMV and let them do a check on the title

Is it a NY title or a CA title? In NY, the owner holds the title and all liens are listed on it. If it's not a NY title, the NY DMV would not have a record of a lien as far as I know. Registrations in NY do not list liens.

Check the NY DMV website, it's actually easy to navigate and has answers to almost any question you can think of.
