Default Rail Station at Middletown, NY

Any one familiar with the Middletown, NY rail station? Is the parking readily available for over night? Do I purchase the round trip tickets at the station. Leaving this Thurs, so I do need to know soon.

I don't know about the station, but you can buy the tickets online through Amtrak. You select the station you are departing from and going to, time of day and whether you want a snack car or not. Amtrak usually gives an approximate time.

Although Amtrak is slower, it is my favorite way to travel. Unlike the Airlines, getting on the train is a breeze, the seats have plenty of space, are very comfortable and you can eat and drink (yes alcohol). You can see parts of the countryside in comfort because you don't have to drive.

Check out NJ transit for the MiddletownNY station. Amtrak does not stop in Middletown. Amtrak shops at Yonkers and Croton-on-Hudson and Pougkeepsie station along the Hudson River. At Middletown station there is a ticket machine to buy tickets (5 dollar penalty on the train) to Hoboken or Penn station.(round trip exc off peak only)

Go to the metro north (mta.info) site. Here's the map MTA Metro-North Railroad
and you can click on the Middletown station for more information. macpat55 is correct - Amtrak does not service Middletown. The rail station is for commuter trains only.
