Default Moving to Warwick

I am visiting Warwick for possible move from nyc. Does anyone know about a Dick's Quarry in which a co was going to dig up marble but met with opposition by the community because of possible asbestos release. Does anyone know what end result was? I believe it was proposed in year 2000. Thanks.

I've only been here for six years so don't know all about the quarry. I do believe they were turned down for their 'expansion' or re-opening plans. The person who knows the most about Warwick here is Jason Els. Contact him.

There are many more issues around here -- Jones Chemical (Google them or search through the Times Herald-Record archives) and all of the many many garbage dumps around. Orange County never met a dump it didn't like! (I live 2,000' down the road from a former Superfund site!).

If you need more help contact me off site.

My husband and I are moving to Warwick Grove. We've always been city people and we're somewhat nervous about the rural nature of the area. We love to go to restaurants....sushi, Mexican, Greek...and wonder how far we'll have to travel to find more upscale , good food.

We also hope to get into Manhattan at least once a month and we're not sure how to get there given the negative remarks about the train and bus connections.

Hi Popogunggung,

did you guys end up moving to Warwick, NY? My kids and I are wanting to move to the northeast and are trying to decide between West Milford, NJ and Greenwood Lake/Warwick, NY.

If you have moved to Warwick, I would be grateful for your thoughts on the area.
