What NY cities/towns have river walks?
I'm interested in finding out where in the state of New York that communities have built pedestrian/bike paths on rivers that go through the town or city, a la places like San Antonio, Eugene, OR, and Boulder, CO.
I'm aware of the Erie Canal path in Rochester, for one, but would like to know about more, especially in small and mid-sized New York cities.
Thanks.

I would imagine that some of the smaller cities along the old Erie Canal path would have them. Amsterdam, NY has a pedestrian trail along the Mohawk River, and Auburn has trails along the canal. Ithaca has a developed but small walkway along a creek that runs through its downtown. You might want to check those places out.

Oswego has developed riverfront promenades throughout the entire city that run on both sides of the Oswego River (also known as the Oswego leg of the Canal System which includes views of both marine traffic lock lifts and water power controlled waterfalls) and along it's Lake Ontario lakefront. This is one of the most extensive systems of its kind in the state.
I don't have any photos on this computer but you can search for them on previous posts. Or you can find webcams here -http://www.oswegony.org/search.html

The Erie canal has a very long path. I don't know if its broken but the path goes from the east side of Rochester all the way past the Niagara river by Buffalo.

Saranac Lake has a neat little river walk area as well. Great town, just a little too remote and a little too cold for my tastes. I do feel the place pulling me though, some of the nicest folks we have run into live there.

Well. technically, the small village of Hoosick Falls has one. The village is purchasing or has purchased the old railroad bed that runs along the river for a 'river walk'.
At this point it's a rough narrow roadway.... but it's walkable
