Default Rome Sentinel

Being a former Roman, I am SO disappointed with the Rome Sentinel. Its online version is atrocious. I can understand an abbreivated version, for those of us who "read" the paper free online, but it's just sad at how far behind the times this paper is.

I can find little to no daily Rome news. The Sentinel gives me only what it feels is important, not all of its paper - even a week later. The smaller Rome Observer is worse. And the Utica O-D, while slightly better, doesn't carry enough of the Rome news.

And the Sentinel is completely and unashamedly anti-Obama. Every posted editorial written by the publishers and editor shows how small-minded, anti-progressive and isolated they have become. Although not everyone agreea with Obama, the fact is he is now our President. First, we owe him the opportunity to succeed (or fail). Second, I'm sure the small minds at the head of the Rome Sentinel could do no better.

I feel sorry for the citizens of Rome, who are being led down a path to obscurity by their local newspaper. Thank goodness for the Internet, national news, Twitter, Facebook, etc. - all quality news and journalism channels I'm sure the Sentinel has never heard of. Let's hope my fellow Romans can see the world outside of the local paper.
