Default Oswego-would a move there be recommended?

We are planning a move in the next year or so. We are searching for a place with reasonable housing - will need to rent at first. This looks like an interesting area, would love to have some opinions. My husband grew up in Greene - my family was from Buffalo & Tonawanda many years ago, so we are somewhat familiar with Upstate. Thanks so much for reading my request! Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi Rolls - Thank you so much. That'll definitely keep us busy for awhile. What a great help this place is.

Oswego?

Watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow...

Oswego is a nice little city of 19,000 that has some things going on and is generally safe. You do have a college scene during the school year, but you can work around it too. I liked it more than I thought I would when I went to college up there.

Seriously... Oswego does have more going on than some of the other small cities of its size in the region. And yeah, if you survive the lake effect season, you will definitely have a badge of honor to brag about to your friends. Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obF_aA_blH8 (the music in this video cracks me up, it is so over the top)

Oswego is having its big Harborfest party this weekend: Oswego Harborfest
