Default Parking at Beacon, NY Train station?

Hey all,
Does anyone have experience parking at the Beacon, NY train station? Will need to commute from there starting in August for about 3 months, and I see the monthly passes are being put on a waiting list. I do see that there are meters, but would I be able to get one if I arrive for a train around 7am? Finally, are there any shuttle buses for free or a small cost from a parking lot nearby instead of this?

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

The Train station has great parking, but if you get there after 7am, it will get full. I do know the permit parking has a long waiting list, over 150 people long. For people living in Beacon, they would get a slight discount on permit parking. If you had to, you can use the metered parking; but that fills up early around 7am. There is a local Beacon website of newcomers that can help you in your questions. I lived in Beacon for 10 yrs, we do not commute.

It is hard to find parking at the Beacon station. Metro- North runs ferries from Newburgh, across the Hudson River-where there is lots of free parking- to the Beacon station. The ferries meet most the rush hour trains. They do shut down for the winter.
