hey everyone, i currently live in ventura,ca and i have always wanted to move to new york. now that i am 18 and ready i want to start planning my course of action. i am currently trying to find a place within a 90 min public trans ride from manhatten [the closer the better] as i would like to work as close to times square as possible. i would like to find a high elevation studio/1 br apartment with a good view. i plan to work 40+ hrs/wk on min wage. so that gives you my budget. if anybody could recommend the best city/area that will fit my needs please let me know. all help is appreciated
EDIT: also as i am trying to get away from gangs (high volume of hells angels here in ventura), drug dealing, and violence, i would like to find some where with a very low murder and rape ratio, and just in general a very low crime rate.
