What is it about schools in New York? Most of my family who live in NY put there kids in private school. Why is it so hard for parents to get quality education for there children in NY?

I think it depends on what area/neighborhood that one lives in.

The state of New York is a lot bigger than people realize. It really depends on where exactly they live. But that's true of any state. I grew up in the suburbs of Albany and we lived in a very well regarded public school district and there are a number of other comparable school districts in the area.

The only people I know that put their kids in private schools are city dwellers. The suburbs have some of the best schools in the nation
