Default Best Places to Live in Sullivan County (New York)

Need help. I am looking to buy a home in Sullivan County. I need to be no more than 2 hours from NYC and have close access to Route 17. I've looked in Smallwood and Wurtsboro but never areas really suit me. I don't want to be in to much of a seasonal neighborhood but then again I do not want be in a neighborhood with too much of a suburban feel. Any suggestions?

There was some serious flooding in Livingston Manor a few years ago so I decided against looking there. I am considering Callicoon, Jeffersonville, and maybe Monticello. What are your thoughts on Narrowsburg?

Narrowsburg is on the Delaware River. So, flooding might be an issue there too. Liberty might also be a community to consider: Town of Liberty

Perhaps Lake Huntington and communities in the town of Fallsburg.
