You have to take the good with the bad. Or the bad with the good. I don't like where I am currently living either, but many people do. You really DO have to look at both sides of the area so you're not shocked when you get there. What's the point of only hearing the good stuff? Personally, I'd want to know both so I'd have an informed opinion.
Think of it like buying a car! What if the car looks hot, has and has good gas mileage, and comes with a semi-reasonable sticker price. Everyone says it's beautiful. But no one warns you that it has terrible reliability and the engine and transmission have known, costly problems? Now you have this hot car, that's not really all that "hot", and you're pretty darn sick of it because it spends more time in the shop than on the road.
