Hey everyone.
In advance - thank you for your help.

This April I will be going to the Big Apple to have some fun. Just for three months. I'm gonna go there no matter what, so this is not a thread of to-do og not to-do. I will work from January throughout March to earn some money here in Danmark, where the wages are much higher than in The States.

I'd love to work in NY, but my question is actually how much is it possible to earn / week. I've been a waiter in Denmark and here we don't get a lot of tips, but my compensation pr. h was something like $20. Is that compariable to the wages in NY?

And I've figured I'm gonna use $1300 pr. week at housing, and i figured I would use $3000 on living expenses besides housing for all three months. Is that doable?

Unless you have a work permit/visa in this economy, I think it will be difficult for you to find any work in the USA.

No, you cannot work legally in the US without a visa that's valid for work. NOT a tourist visa.

But what if I get one? How does it seem? With the money I mean?

Visas valid for working must be sponsored by your prospective employer, or you must be a student at an accredited university. It's a long, expensive process and with all the unemployment here few employers need or want to go overseas to look for someone to work here. If you're a student, you can only do academic work while here for studying, nothing outside the university.
