Where is a good place to go snowboarding, sledding, skiing? (New York: home, live in)

I'm looking for a cool spot for me and some friends to go snowboarding, sledding and skiing somewhere in upstate New York. We live in NYC (The Bronx and Queens) and we're trying to find a place that's not too far but we're definitely not staying in the city. I heard Bear Mountain is a good place but does anyone have any other recommendations?

We're looking for either a nice public or national park with some steep hills, are somewhere that mainly has a place for those type of recreational activities.
