Default Need help Rochester VS. Albany (the city)

Hello,
Because of my job I have to relocate to either Albany or Rochester (I currently live in Syracuse). I am single, 25 and a female, thus I would like to live somewhere where there is more of a likelihood of meeting people and socializing as my job is not so social and I love people. I am more of a city person but want to be in a safe area.

Can anyone help me out with some advice?

The Park Avenue area of Rochester is probably the nicest "young" neighborhood in Upstate NY. Monroe Ave, Park Ave. These are areas that are filled with amazing turn of the century homes, many of which are split up into affordable apartments. The University of Rochester is less than a mile south of Downtown so they cater to the younger crowd. The Eastman Theatre is a love affair with many early 20's folks who are interested in that kind of stuff as well.

I stated in another thread that I have lived in both places. Rochester is bigger, so it will have more options for you. Both cities have had a decline in younger people over the years, but Rochester has more options as far as socializing with people in your age range. Many of the bars in albany seemed to be college oriented (not that they didnt have non-college bars). Rochester has more of a 20 something bar/nightlife scene.
The park ave area and I hear the south wedge now is populated by lots of 20 somethings.
