Does Nissan not make the ugliest cars on the market today?

Cube? Juke? Their new vans (big and small)? Even the GTR isn't great looking but sure is an excellent performer/fast. I have liked the Altima/Maxima designs in the past but the newer stuff is hideous!

My vote would go to Acura, Lincoln and Scion for worst current designs. YMMV.

Altima/Maxima are good looking. The Cube and Juke are out there, but sort of like the Kia Soul. They're just funky cars. They aren't supposed to be conventionally good looking. They're supposed to be ugly good. I think all three do well. GT-R is... well, it's like the LFA. It's too much form following function with no attention to form itself.

I kind of like Lincoln's styling. Given that Lincoln doesn't have any cars of its own, they've done a, imo, passable job of changes to the cosmetics to make the rebadged Fords they sell look more distinctive. The biggest holdback is the fact they only sell Ford models. You have less latitude in terms of proportions when you're just putting a luxury badge on economy/practical car. The real master of that is, imo, Cadillac. I think the XTS looks fantastic. It really couldn't look any better given that it's proportions are completely off and it just screams oversized economy FWD. It looks quite good until you see it next to a CTS or A7... and well, then not so much.

Most of these cars look like absolute crap and all the cars from a certain brand have to mirror each other or they lose the "brand recognition."

Guess it depends on your taste. IMO the Altima is better looking than it has ever been. The Maxima has a very aggressive look and I almost bought one. The Juke seems fun to own and the Cube is a car that looks like it was made for Japan that has found a home in the states. The 370 doesnt even need to be mentioned because that car is straight up sexy.

The previous design, while nice, was way overdue to be replaced. The new design is incredibly boring/bland to me. I think it's even blander than the perennial yawner in the midsize class(Camry).

I think most current Nissans are massively overstyled. They are trying too hard to stand out. The Maxima is too curvy. The Juke is a joke. The Rogue is just a curvy blob. The Altima is relatively mild, but it has to be for their typical no nonsense buyer. The Cube is find - because its purpose is to be off the charts. I think the 370z is trying too hard to look like a tuner car. It is too young looking for my taste.

I think the new Infiniti vehicles are similarly overdone.

They need to dial it back. Not like an Audi, but just "less."

IMO, Nissan needs to work on the design of the front end of their vehicles and they need to redesign the Xterra and the trucks to make them look "tougher". The interiors of most of their vehicles are very nice especially the Frontier.

-Cheers.

Someone at my apartment complex drives a Juke, so I see it all the time. I'm one of those folks who sees faces in cars, and every time I look at it I think of a frog.

I drive a (previous gen) Versa and like the front end, though. It just looks so bright and cheerful.
