More problems at Nissan:

Nissan Motor Co (7201.T) Chairman Carlos Ghosn was arrested on Monday for alleged financial misconduct and will be fired from the board this week, a dramatic fall for a leader hailed for rescuing the Japanese carmaker from close to bankruptcy.

He wasn’t the first or will be the last executive who got caught With this hand in the cookie jar.

He is not the first or the last executive to be busted look at what happened to it and Enron and MCI WorldCom. Look at what happened to John DeLorean.

Oh c'mon! He was innocent man working only for the benefit of the company and spirit of Nissan. All this is false allegations.



Actually, he was well described in a Leaf documentary. He will not get out of bed if he will not make profit. That sums it up for the character.

Automakers use them because they're cheap, not because they're good.
They are used in very few non-hybrid luxury cars because the manufacturers know that they're unworthy.

Key word is 'luxury'. Most people don't buy luxury cars. They buy commuters. The CVTs are perfect for that use case.

Nissian CVT's are the worst. Toyota and Honda make the best CVT's. I've driven manuals and traditional autos with gears. My current Honda CVT is smooth and there is no rubber band feeling. It really doesn't feel much different than similar sized cars using an 8 speed automatic.
