Well, I've never owned one, but about the rarest Nissan (or Datsun) product I can think of in the U.S. is probably the Patrol. They were only sold here for a couple years in the late 60's, as far as I know. This was Nissan's answer to Toyota's FJ40 Land Cruiser. I believe there are still various models of the Patrol in production in other parts of the world, but they're not sold here.
I did see a Datsun 1200 pickup the other day. It was probably a '68 or '69 model. I forgot how small they were when they were first imported.
I almost bought an NX2000 a few months ago until I test-drove it and discovered the engine was whipped. I also didn't like that it had a T-top. That almost would have been a deal-breaker in its own right, but the tired engine was a sure deal-killer.
I too used to have a 924S. I did see a few of them here and there, but it was a fairly rare bird. I wish I had never sold that car, but there was no way I was going to be able to park it on a Chicago side street without having people f#*k with it just because it was a Porsche; and yet it wasn't worth enough to bother renting a garage for it.
Another car I had that got some looks was a Chrysler Conquest (aka Mitsubishi Starion). It was a bit of a crude beast but it got the job done. I lived in a pretty small town when I had it. There was some other guy in town with a Porsche 944. We had a few stoplight battles but he wouldn't play any more after I kept beating him. I'd love to get another Conquest/Starion but there are far more "rolling chassis" out there than functional examples; it has reached the point where the former are being stripped to keep the latter running.
The coolest/rarest vehicle I've ever owned was a VW pickup (rabbit pickup). I wish I had never sold it, but it went to a good home for a complete restoration!
My friend has a 86 (or so) Toyota Camry wagon. It's in very good shape, and is the smoothest riding car I've ever been in. Interesting , he's single and drives a wagon.
I am not sure; the owner is from New Zealand and his 'Chugga' is actually a '770' model---------it too came from Kiwi Land.
Yeah, They were quite popular, With our neighbours across the Tasman. So much so, That NZ had far better sales, Than OZ.
I sort of guessed it was. The '770' was the Luxury model, Of the VH Charger range. There was the '770' (With the 318 cui V8) and the '770' SE (With the 340 cui V8).
