The first vehicle I purchased new was a Nissan (just renamed from Datsun) King Cab, the first year IIRC of the smooth sided bed without the tiedowns. 35 mpg highway, had the power I needed, and the kids could entertain each other by kicking at each other in the jump seats. I had to sell it during the Alaska depression of the late 80's, lost the job, no money for such fripperies as truck payments.
Except for the front coils? I googled and ebaymotor searched for front coils and came up short. I haven't even looked underneath the truck in so long I couldn't remember if it had coils or not.
720's had torsion bar suspension. Very adjustable for weight and height. I had a 1983 1/2 model.
I would tend to go to a Nissan V6 for a change over. The original Z22 and Z24 engines had a lot of power thou.
Oh just putting it out there I am a Owner of a 720 commonly known as d20 or d21 pickup, I have the factory z-24 motor but I am in the process of installing a Nissan z32's DGETT V-6 twin turbo in my little truck I used to have a 1977 Datsun kingcab longbed pickup that i removed the dead 22r engine it had and threw in a 76 buick v6 otherwise known as a cosworth vega 6 cylinder in that truck and it worked well for shows and street strip application

A '77 King cab long bed? I've never seen that config. I had a '77 regular cab long bed. It was a ballsy little truck. Rust ate it away though. I could see the road going by through a rust hole in the cab floor. I wish I could go back in time and buy a new one.
